A unique opportunity to spend time, with hands on learning, in an award winning jewellery and watch workshop. This is an amazing chance to gain insight into the technical side of the jewellery and watch industry.
The day is hosted by Michael Scott, a jewellery expert. Michael has many years of experience in the industry and is a qualified goldsmith, diamond grader and jewellery valuer.
The day begins with a welcome tea or coffee.
9.45am- Diamond training and grading tutorial. This will teach you about how diamonds are mined and cut. You will also learn about diamond grading in relation to the 4c's. By the end of the session you should be able to grade diamonds according to their clarity and colour.
12.30pm- Lunch is provided. (Please advise us of any dietary restrictions).
1pm- Into the workshop where you will see behind the scenes and watch our skilled benchworkers in action. Then it's your turn, you will have the opportunity to size a ring and repair a chain.
You will be able to observe how jewellery is polished and watch our diamond setter set precious gemstones. The afternoon will also include a tour of our engraving and watch departments.
The day ends about 3.30pm. You will be issued a Certificate of Attendance.
